ATTACKER Signs With CHAVIS RECORDS
May 9, 2007Legendary heavy metal band ATTACKER has signed a deal with Chavis Records for the worldwide digital distribution of their complete catalog, including the critically acclaimed "Battle at Helms Deep", "The Second Coming", "Soul Taker" and "The Unknown".
Formed in 1983 as one of the first heavy metal bands to use J.R.R. Tolkien's books as a source of inspiration, ATTACKER released "Battle at Helms Deep" and quickly amassed a legion of metal followers making the LP an underground classic. ATTACKER released "The Second Coming" in 1988 and then went on a hiatus.
2004 saw ATTACKER make a solid comeback with the release of "Soul Taker". Live appearances at the Keep It True festival in April 2004 in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany and the Heavy Metal Maniacs Festival in October 2004 at Manifesto Hall in Hoorn, Holland followed. The band then went on to record its newest effort, "The Unknown", which came out in 2006.
Since the release of "The Unknown", ATTACKER has stepped up its live performances, with many appearances as part of the True Metal America Concert Series. The group has already been confirmed for next year's Keep It True festival, where they will deliver a very special show by performing the complete "Battle At Helms Deep" saga.
"Battle At Helms Deep", "The Second Coming", "Soul Taker" and "The Unknown" will be released digitally via Chavis Records and made available via such fee-based digital music services as iTunes, Rhapsody, AOL Music and Yahoo! Music.
